Now for my favorite projects... creating my first short film unlocked a passion for not only videography and editing, but reminded me how much I love acting and script writing. Tackling this project required hanging up my perfectionist hat and leaning into the scrappiness. Comedic genres are tricky, I came to find out, as an audience's laugh is not fully reliant on the actors, but is heavily dependent on the editing. Bridging the two was an exciting challenge. When I heard collective laughter out of my class 2-3 times in this 4 minute short, I considered it a success.

My short film was written, directed and acted by myself (beginning scene by my close friends) with the help of two peers who tackled cinematography, lighting and sound. I crafted the plot, dialogue and vision for this 4 minute short totaling to about 4 full days of set work and a week's work of editing on Adobe Premiere.

I assisted Jean-Luc Montaudy on his short film, Family Ballad, as a script supervisor and 2nd gaffer. On set, I successfully listed which shots were of top priority for our crunch-time shooting day. As a 2nd gaffer, I took Jean-Luc's direction and set up key, fill and practical lighting for various shots.
